Kara Anderson
President

Kara  brings over 18 years of experience in senior living and senior business operations.  Her background includes management of assisted living facilities, private duty home care, and senior business development.

Kara is a graduate of Baylor University with a degree in Social Work.  After graduating, she started her career at a skilled nursing facility in Texas.  Upon her return to Florida, Kara began working as a social worker and advanced quickly to the Administrator position of an assisted living facility dedicated to those with Alzheimer’s Disease and related dementia.  After assisting with the development of a local senior business, Kara moved briefly to Atlanta where she became known for turning challenged communities for Sunrise Senior Living, earning the designation of Senior Executive Director in only eight months with the company; providing operations support for two additional communities while fulfilling the Executive Director position of her own.

Kara was fortunate to get the call to return to Florida from a company looking for positive change at their own challenged community.  She returned to the Vero Beach market and successfully reversed the negative trend in that community.  Kara assisted with the start-up of a small management company and is now working to simplify senior living for seniors and their families.

Brevard County is exceptionally close to Kara’s heart, having been raised here, both personally and professionally.  She has a passion for creating businesses and environments for the celebration of seniors and their well-being.  It is from that passion that Simplifying Senior Living was born – with the goal of educating the AL owner/operators on the importance of Prioritizing Compliance while supporting and empowering the small business model of each home.  As a State Certified Core Trainer and State Certified Alzheimer's Trainer, Kara brings passion for seniors to new audiences and care providers throughout East Central Florida.
